The woman that I met yesterday was my teacher.

I ate the cake which you put into the fridge.
I ate the cake that you put into the fridge.

We can use that instead of who and which.

The woman I met yesterday was my teacher.
I ate the cake you put into the fridge.

When that is the object, we don’t have to use it.

This is the flower the little prince liked.
It was a snake the little prince met before.
